BIOGEST-SITEIA is
the interdepartmental research center of
the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia dedicated to the
improvement and valorization of agro-food biological
resources. It provides companies with specialized industrial and applied research services within the agri-food supply chain. It promotes and coordinates sector-specific research in the field of plant production and related processing technologies, as well as studies on the organization and management of innovation in the agri-food sector, from the identification of needs to the methods and tools for implementing system-wide conditions. Biogest-Siteia also acts as a counterpart for Public Authorities in the development of interventions and projects funded at local, national, and European levels. The activities of Biogest-Siteia are also aimed at pursuing scientific research objectives to ensure an excellent, up-to-date technology transfer offer that is aligned with the latest research advancements. Biogest-Siteia has specific expertise and dedicated laboratories for analyses related to the quality of raw materials, production processes, and food products, as well as to the improvement of their nutritional and nutraceutical characteristics; to the enhancement of the shelf life of raw materials and food products through innovative packaging techniques; to the development of bioactive compounds for the protection of raw materials and foodstuffs; and to the study of assays for pest resistance to plant protection products. |
